Pre-Order Terms and Conditions
A pre-order is an order for an item which is not in stock but will be in future. To pre-order an item we will ask for a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit. This guarantees that when the item arrives with us, you will receive that item once the balance is paid. We will only take pre-orders for the number of items our suppliers have confirmed we’ll receive.
At the time of pre-ordering an estimated time, of when Charlie Bears expect to produce the bear, can be found in the description of the item. This time is a guide only, and could change due to circumstances beyond our control. Charlie Bears have been faced with extremely long delays due to COVID and Brexit and are still running behind on some. By ordering you agree to these T&C’s, deposits will not be refunded for bears arriving later than the estimated time. This is only a guide and not guaranteed.
Paying the remaining Balance
Once the item arrives we will email an invoice for the balance, plus postage, if applicable. The email will contain a link for you to pay securely online via Stripe. If after 14 days the balance has not been paid and we’ve been unable to contact you by telephone, your order will be cancelled, and your deposit will be lost. Please make sure you keep your contact details up to date, any changes we should be notified by email and we will respond to confirm the updates have be made.
In the event we have multiple pre-orders for one item, and the item arrives on different shipments e.g. only one arrives at first, then that item will be offered to the first person that pre-ordered and so on.
Post and Packaging fees will apply. Postage is approx. £4.95. Larger bears may be more, if you’re concerned about postage costs please contact us before ordering.
If you are unable to collect your pre-order from our store, we can arrange your item to be posted to you. Post and Packaging charges will apply and are calculated by the weight, value and size. We currently ONLY deliver within the UK
Charlie Bear production times (subject to change)
Charlie Bears only inform us the day before when a bear is to arrive. We do not have precise delivery times, these are the guides below:
Quarter 1 January-March
Quarter 2 April-June
Quarter 3 July-September
Quarter 4 October-December
Paying in Instalments
Due to how Charlie Bear operate we only find out when a bear is arriving with us the day before. If you think you may struggle to have funds available at such short notice, please ask us about spreading the cost of the bear with a pre-payment instalments. Additional payments can be made prior to your bear arriving, all pre-order terms still apply and balances are required to be settled in full at the time your pre-order arrives. Please telephone us to make an additional payment towards your bear.
Cancelling a Pre-order
While it is not a legal commitment to pay the balance of the bear, we hope that you would consider it a personal commitment. We may have turned down another pre-order request because of yours. That having been said, we realise that circumstances can change. So if you find that you will not be able to follow through with a pre-order, we ask that you let us know as soon as possible so that we can give another collector the opportunity to adopt the bear. Please notify us by email to cancel a pre-order. Once cancelled your deposit will be lost but no further payments will be required.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND PLACING PRE-ORDERS FOR SPECIAL BIRTHDAYS OR CHRISTMAS GIFTS
If you are looking to give a bear for a gift, we recommend only ordering bears that are in stock, not a pre-ordered bear. This is because there can be delays in production and as per our Terms and Conditions, deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable due to delays beyond our control.
