Pre-Order Terms and Conditions
What is a Pre-Order?
A pre-order is an order for an item which is not in stock but will be in future. To pre-order an item we will ask for a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit. Charlie Bears the deposit is £25. This guarantees that when the item arrives with us, you will receive that item once the balance is paid. We will only take pre-orders for the number of items we are expecting to receive.
Paying the remaining Balance
Once the item arrives we will telephone each customer in date order of deposits received and request you pay for and collect your item within 7days. If we are unable to contact you, we will leave a message (if able to do so) and an email will then also be sent. If after 14 days we have had no response or the balance has not been paid, your order will be cancelled, and your deposit will be lost. Please make sure you keep your contact details up to date with us.
In the event we have multiple pre-orders, and the item arrives on different shipments e.g. only one arrives at first, then that item will be offered to the first person that pre-ordered and so on.
Post and Packaging fees may apply. Average size bear range between £2.95-£4.95. Large bears may be more, if you’re concerned about postage costs please contact us before ordering.
Can my Pre-order be delivered ?
Yes, if you are unable to collect your pre-order from our store, we can arrange your item to be posted to you. Post and Packaging charges may apply and are calculated by the weight, value and size.
When will my Pre-order arrive?
At the time of pre-ordering an estimated time of arrival will normally be given. This time is a guide only, and could change due to circumstances beyond our control. If there is a significant change, we will let you know.
Charlie Bear Arrival Times.
If your Pre-Order is a Charlie Bear, the bear will have a Quarter in which that bear is expected to arrive. Again this is a guide and can be subject to change set by Charlie Bears. Charlie Bears only inform us of the exact time of arrival one day before delivery. We do not have precise delivery times these are the guides below:
Quarter 1 January-March
Quarter 2 April-June
Quarter 3 July-September
Quarter 4 October-December
This is a statement from Charlie Bears Head Office in regards to Quarters : “Please note that this is a production plan and is subject to change and if there are any significant changes, we will let you know immediately. 2020 saw some delays on delivery by quarter and we are confident that we can catch this up in 2021 so please can we ask for your, and your customers, continued patience as we deal with the ongoing difficulties, we are all facing.”
Can I pay in instalments?
Due to how Charlie Bear operate we only find out when a bear is arriving with us a day or two before it is due. If you think you may struggle to have funds available at such short notice, please ask us about spreading the cost of the bear with a pre-payment instalments plan. This is a saving club that can only be set up prior to your bear arriving, all pre-order terms still apply and balances are required to be settled in full at the time your pre-order arrives.
Can I change my mind and cancel my Pre-order or am I committed to buying the bear?
While it is not a legal commitment (other than the forfeiture of the non-refundable/non-transferable deposit), we hope that you would consider it a personal commitment. We may have turned down another pre-order request because of yours. That having been said, we realise that circumstances can change. So if you find that you will not be able to follow through with a pre-order, we ask that you let us know as soon as possible so that we can give another collector the opportunity to adopt the bear.
